In the U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.3% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 was flat in morning trading. Credit Agricole rose 4% and Viaplay Group Series B rose 2.7%. On the other hand, IMCD dropped 8.2%, and WPP PLC lost 6.2%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.1%. Other stocks in Europe were mixed as France’s CAC 40 gained 0.2% and Germany’s DAX was flat.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index rose 0.1% to 97.1.
In commodities, Brent crude climbed 0.2% to $85.33 a barrel, and WTI crude climbed 0.2% to $81.74 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield climbed by 1.8 basis points to 2.621% from 2.603%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury declined by 0.2 basis points to 4.177% from 4.179% Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were up as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index climbed 0.1%, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng climbed 0.4%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite gained 0.2%.
