In the U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.5% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.3%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 was flat in morning trading. Scout24 climbed 8.9% and CTS Eventim rose 7%. On the other hand, Interpump Group dropped 3.3%, and Orron Energy slipped 2.9%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.2%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France’s CAC 40 decreased 0.1% and Germany’s DAX fell 0.2%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index climbed 0.1% to 96.83.
In commodities, Brent crude was flat at $86.22 a barrel, and WTI crude fell 0.1% to $82.74 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield fell by 0.3 basis points to 2.566% from 2.569%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury climbed by 4.5 basis points to 4.09% from 4.046% Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index gained 0.2%, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng declined 0.1%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite declined 0.6%.
