In the U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.1% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average flat. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 climbed 0.4% in morning trading. DocMorris rose 6.6% and Corbion added 4.5%. On the other hand, Adyen lost 4.6%, and Taylor Wimpey sunk 3.6%. The FTSE 100 added 0.2%. Other stocks in Europe were up as France’s CAC 40 increased 0.6% and Germany’s DAX climbed 0.4%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index was flat at 98.15.
In commodities, Brent crude climbed 0.9% to $85.56 a barrel, and WTI crude rose 1% to $82.04 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield rose by 1 basis point to 2.636% from 2.622%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury climbed by 4 basis points to 4.289% from 4.253%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index gained 0.4%, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 1.6%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite declined 1.2%.
