In the U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.2% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 gained 0.6% in morning trading. Ubisoft Entertainment added 5.8% and DocMorris climbed 5.2%. On the other hand, Bakkafrost lost 4.7%, and Orron Energy slipped 2.5%. The FTSE 100 added 0.2%. Other stocks in Europe were up as France’s CAC 40 increased 0.6% and Germany’s DAX rose 0.7%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index fell 0.2% to 97.94.
In commodities, Brent crude fell 0.2% to $84.26 a barrel, and WTI crude dropped 0.2% to $79.97 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield declined by 1 basis point to 2.69% from 2.701%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury was flat at 4.335%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were up as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index climbed 0.9%, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 1.1%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite gained 0.9%.
