Nvidia Earns $6.1 Billion In Q2 Fiscal 2024

Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) recorded a net profit of US$ 6,188 billion in the second fiscal quarter of 2024, an amount eight times greater (843%) than that recorded in the same period of the previous year. Along the same lines, revenues increased 101%, to US$ 13.507 billion, against US$ 6.704 billion in the same period of the previous year.

The company’s performance was driven by its datacenter business, which includes the A100 and H100 artificial intelligence (AI) chips – needed to build and run AI applications such as ChatGPT. This industry recorded revenue of $10.32 billion, up 171% year-over-year.

“A new era of computing has begun,” Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in a press release. “Enterprises around the world are transitioning from general purpose to accelerated computing and generative AI.”

In the games sector, Q2 revenue was $2.49 billion, up 11% from the prior quarter and 22% from the prior year. Nvidia announced intelligence that in the last quarter it began shipping the model of GeForce RTX 4060 GPUs, in addition to the Avatar Cloud Engine service, or ACE, focused on natural language interactions powered by AI to transform games, bringing to non-playable characters.

Nvidia said it expects third-quarter revenue of about $16 billion, up from the $12.61 billion forecast by analysts. The company’s guidance suggests that its sales will grow 170% year-on-year in the current quarter.
