US Futures, European Stocks Rise

In the U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.1% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 gained 0.6% in morning trading. NN Group rose 9.2% and Grand City Properties added 7.1%. On the other hand, Adyen dropped 2.2%, and Carrefour sunk 1.8%. The FTSE 100 added 1.3%. Other stocks in Europe were up as France’s CAC 40 gained 0.2% and Germany’s DAX rose 0.3%.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index fell 0.1% to 98.47.

In commodities, Brent crude dropped 0.1% to $83.75 a barrel, and WTI crude fell 0.2% to $79.93 a barrel.

The German 10-year Bund yield declined by 4 basis points to 2.545% from 2.582%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury fell by 2 basis points to 4.185% from 4.204%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

Stocks in Asia were up as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index gained 0.2%, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng climbed 1.8%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite gained 1.2%.
