In the U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.2% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 gained 0.1% in morning trading. HelloFresh rose 5.7% and Getinge Series B climbed 3.7%. On the other hand, Smurfit Kappa Group lost 10.9%, and Gerresheimer sunk 4.1%. The FTSE 100 added 0.2%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France’s CAC 40 decreased 0.1% and Germany’s DAX dropped 0.3%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index climbed 0.1% to 99.01.
In commodities, Brent crude rose 0.1% to $90.75 a barrel, and WTI crude rose 0.2% to $87.49 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield was flat at 2.637%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury was flat at 4.293%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index climbed 1%, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng declined 0.3%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite fell 0.2%.
