U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.4% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.3%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 gained 0.1% in morning trading. Logitech International rose 10% and Nemetschek added 7%. On the other hand, Viaplay Group Series B slipped 14.7%, and Barclays dropped 6.6%. The FTSE 100 was flat. Other stocks in Europe were up as France’s CAC 40 gained 0.1% and Germany’s DAX climbed 0.1%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index fell 0.2% to 99.91.
In commodities, Brent crude rose 0.7% to $90.48 a barrel, and WTI crude rose 0.8% to $86.14 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield fell by 8 basis points to 2.796% from 2.876%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury declined by 4 basis points to 4.806% from 4.849%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index climbed 0.2%, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng declined 0.8%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite climbed 0.8%.
