U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.1% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 declined 0.3% in morning trading. Nexi climbed 6.5% and Schneider Electric climbed 5.4%. On the other hand, S4 Capital dropped 14.3%, and Flutter Entertainment lost 9%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.4%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France’s CAC 40 decreased 0.1% and Germany’s DAX fell 0.1%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index rose 0.1% to 100.03.
In commodities, Brent crude rose 0.7% to $80.10 a barrel, and WTI crude gained 0.7% to $75.87 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield climbed by 1 basis point to 2.637% from 2.623%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury rose by 2 basis points to 4.523% from 4.497%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index climbed 1.5%, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng dropped 0.3%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite was flat.
