U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.1% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 was flat in morning trading. CD Projekt added 3.8% and Diploma PLC rose 3.6%. On the other hand, Ashtead Group dropped 13.7%, and Bayer slipped 11.3%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.3%. Other stocks in Europe were mixed as France’s CAC 40 increased 0.3% and Germany’s DAX held steady.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index dropped 0.3% to 98.31.
In commodities, Brent crude climbed 0.6% to $81.09 a barrel, and WTI crude gained 0.7% to $76.58 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield rose by 3 basis points to 2.617% from 2.588%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury climbed by 4 basis points to 4.48% from 4.44%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index declined 0.6%, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 1.9%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite gained 0.5%.
