US Futures, European Stocks Mixed

U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were flat and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 was flat in morning trading. Evolution Gaming Group rose 3.7% and Forvia added 3.1%. On the other hand, Dr. Martens dropped 4.3%, and Orpea slipped 3.7%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.2%. Other stocks in Europe were flat as France’s CAC 40 was flat and Germany’s DAX held steady.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index was flat at 98.35.

In commodities, Brent crude rose 0.1% to $81.35 a barrel.

The German 10-year Bund yield rose by 4 basis points to 2.656% from 2.621%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury rose by 7 basis points to 4.485% from 4.412%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index gained 0.5%, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 2%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite declined 0.7%.
