Super Micro Forms Strategic Alliance with DataVolt to Develop AI Mega Campuses in Saudi Arabia

Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMCI), a leading provider of comprehensive IT solutions for AI, cloud, storage, and 5G/edge environments, has unveiled a strategic alliance with DataVolt through a newly signed memorandum of understanding (MOU). The partnership aims to jointly construct advanced hyperscale AI campuses, beginning in Saudi Arabia.

Charles Liang, Supermicro’s President and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We’re proud to join forces on this pivotal initiative to deliver the high-performance computing power needed for tomorrow’s AI landscape. This partnership combines our cutting-edge AI systems with DataVolt’s focus on renewable and net-zero technologies, powered by local sustainable energy.”

As part of the agreement, Supermicro will accelerate the deployment of its high-density GPU systems, storage solutions, and plug-and-play rack infrastructures tailored for DataVolt’s planned gigawatt-scale AI campuses. These facilities are designed to support large-scale AI workloads while meeting stringent sustainability goals.

Central to Supermicro’s offering is its latest generation of direct liquid cooling (DLC-2) systems, which can reduce power consumption by up to 40% and improve data center efficiency through lower power usage effectiveness (PUE). These innovations also speed up deployment timelines and optimize operational costs.

Supermicro, as a comprehensive IT solutions vendor, will supply fully integrated and validated platforms including servers, storage, networking components, racks, and advanced thermal management systems. The company’s scalable liquid cooling technologies are expected to help operators lower total cost of ownership (TCO) by as much as 20%.

The partnership is currently contingent upon finalization of one or more definitive agreements. The total market value of the solutions expected to be delivered under the alliance is projected to exceed $20 billion, marking a significant milestone in both companies’ efforts to pioneer next-generation AI infrastructure on a massive scale.
