Blaize Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:BZAI) shares surged by 9.4% on Monday after the company announced it had secured a significant contract to roll out its edge AI technology across more than 250,000 smart surveillance endpoints throughout Southeast Asia.
Valued at approximately $56 million, the contract is expected to generate $6 million in revenue during the second and third quarters of Blaize’s fiscal 2025. The deployment, which begins in Q2 2025 and continues through 2026, will support a broad range of smart city applications including traffic monitoring, urban security, and infrastructure automation.
The agreement marks a major win for Blaize’s proprietary Graph Streaming Processor and multimodal inference platform, which played a pivotal role in securing the deal. The technology allows edge devices to process complex data streams—such as video, radar, and environmental sensors—in real time, coordinating efficiently with centralized AI analytics hubs.
“Blaize’s edge AI platform gave us exactly what we needed to accelerate our next-generation public safety deployments — powerful multimodal processing, seamless integration, and real-time performance,” said a senior advisor to a regional smart infrastructure program. “Its ability to handle multiple sensor types and data streams on a single, efficient system was unmatched.”
The company’s platform will be used in a wide array of applications such as license plate detection, speed monitoring, traffic flow optimization, and edge-level sensor fusion, all of which require low latency and high throughput.
Blaize CEO and co-founder Dinakar Munagala described the deal as a clear signal that “real-world AI transformation is happening now,” adding that the project showcases the company’s strength in delivering purpose-built hybrid AI systems for deployment at the physical edge.
