Ford Posts Robust 14.2% Sales Increase in Q2, Surpassing Industry Growth

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) delivered an impressive performance in the second quarter of 2025, with vehicle sales jumping 14.2% to reach 612,095 units. This growth notably outstripped the broader automotive industry’s modest 1.4% expansion during the same period.

The company’s market share also saw a healthy boost, climbing to approximately 14.3%, which is a 1.8 percentage point improvement over the first quarter of the year.

Andrew Frick, Ford’s president of Ford Blue and Model e and interim head of Ford Pro, highlighted the company’s success, stating, “Our second-quarter sales exceeded expectations and outpaced the overall market by a wide margin.”

Ford’s truck lineup was a standout contributor, with combined pickup sales—including the F-Series, Ranger, and Maverick—rising 15.1% to 288,564 units. The F-Series alone grew 11.5% to 222,459 vehicles, marking its strongest second quarter performance since 2019. The Maverick also hit a new milestone, selling 48,041 units—a 26.3% increase—with nearly 60% of those buyers being first-time Ford customers. Ranger sales rebounded sharply, surging 36.3%.

Electrified vehicles, spanning hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and fully electric models, accounted for 82,886 sales, a 6.6% increase and 13.5% of Ford’s overall volume. For the first half of 2025, Ford moved a record 156,509 electrified vehicles, representing a 14.7% gain that the company claims outperforms the combined electric vehicle portfolios of GM and Stellantis (NYSE: STLA).

In the SUV category, Ford’s Expedition posted a remarkable 43.9% increase with 31,298 units sold—the best second quarter in two decades. Meanwhile, Navigator sales more than doubled, climbing 115% to 7,355, marking its strongest second-quarter showing in 21 years. The Bronco lineup, which includes both Bronco and Bronco Sport, set a new record with 78,543 SUVs sold, up 44.7%.

Luxury brand Lincoln also experienced significant growth, with sales up 31.0% to 31,332 vehicles—the brand’s highest second-quarter tally in 18 years, driven by strong performances across its entire model range.
