VCI Global Shares Edge Higher Following Acquisition of Encryption Tech Firm

Shares of VCI Global Limited (NASDAQ:VCIG) climbed 2% on Tuesday after the company disclosed that its portfolio firm, QuantGold Data Group Limited, had completed the acquisition of Secure Encryption Storage Limited (SES)—a hardware encryption company holding 129 patents.

Through this acquisition, VCI Global secures exclusive distribution rights for SES’s suite of encryption solutions in select parts of Southeast Asia. SES’s technology is already deployed in more than 100 organizations across Asia, including government agencies, telecom firms, banks, airlines, and mobile phone manufacturers.

SES offers a wide array of hardware solutions, ranging from military-grade encrypted storage systems to secure AI and GPU infrastructure, encrypted mobile devices, and data intelligence equipment. Its devices comply with both symmetric and asymmetric encryption standards and include models certified to the EAL4 level, a key benchmark in national cybersecurity.

Dato’ Victor Hoo, Group Executive Chairman and CEO of VCI Global, stated, “Our commitment is clear: VCIG is here to build the trusted foundation for sovereign AI. We are not just reacting to cybersecurity threats—we are investing to eliminate them at their root.”

The newly acquired encryption capabilities will be integrated into QuantGold’s sovereign AI platform, designed to handle encrypted data across critical industries such as finance, healthcare, and national infrastructure. QuantGold already leverages over 120 encryption patents and has a strong presence in Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
