AmpliTech Shares Gain on Growing Role in Quantum Computing Hardware

AmpliTech Group Inc. (NASDAQ:AMPG) shares rose 3.6% after the company underscored its expanding presence in the quantum computing industry, driven by increasing adoption of its cryogenic Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs).

The signal processing specialist, listed on Nasdaq, spotlighted its proprietary pHEMT-based cryogenic LNAs, which function at ultra-low temperatures near 4 Kelvin and offer industry-best noise figures below 0.1 dB. These components are vital for maintaining signal fidelity in quantum systems, where even minimal interference can impact performance.

“Our LNAs are not just amplifiers—they are enablers of a quantum leap,” said Fawad Maqbool, CEO and CTO of AmpliTech. “With each qubit typically requiring its own LNA, the demand for our technology is directly linked to the growth of the quantum computing sector, and we’re scaling aggressively to meet it.”

The company pointed to forecasts that project the quantum hardware market growing at a 33% compound annual rate through 2030, with multiple firms targeting systems exceeding 1,000 qubits over the next two years. As each qubit typically requires an individual amplifier, AmpliTech expects significant upside for its cryogenic product line.

AmpliTech also stated its LNAs are already in use by top-tier research programs, academic institutions, and government labs. Looking ahead, the company anticipates its components will play a foundational role in emerging quantum-AI hybrid systems, which could revolutionize industries from biotech to finance and cybersecurity.
