Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) and BioNTech (NASDAQ:BNTX) have gained a positive opinion from the European Medicines Agency’s Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) for their updated monovalent COVID-19 vaccine targeting the LP.8.1 variant.
The recommendation applies to individuals aged six months and older, according to the companies’ announcement.
This positive assessment from the CHMP will now be reviewed by the European Commission, which is expected to issue its final approval on the vaccine update soon.
