Tencent (NYSE:TME) reported a 15% rise in second-quarter revenue on Wednesday, fueled by strong performance in its gaming segment and expansion in AI-driven business initiatives.
For the three months ending in June, the Chinese tech giant posted revenue of 184.5 billion yuan, surpassing analyst expectations of 178.5 billion yuan, according to LSEG data.
Domestic gaming revenue climbed 17% to 40.4 billion yuan, while international gaming grew even faster, rising 35% to 18.8 billion yuan.
The company’s marketing services also contributed to growth, with revenue up 20% year-on-year, reaching 35.8 billion yuan.
Tencent’s net profit for the quarter hit 55.6 billion yuan, exceeding analyst estimates of 52.3 billion yuan, according to LSEG data.
