Meta brings in Apple AI executive to boost Superintelligence Labs

Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META) is reportedly hiring a top artificial intelligence executive from Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) as the company plans to slow overall hiring, according to Bloomberg sources familiar with the matter.

Frank Chu, who has previously led Apple AI teams specializing in cloud infrastructure, AI training, and search, is set to join Meta’s Superintelligence Labs (MSL). Sources requested anonymity due to the private nature of the information.

The move comes as Meta scales back broader recruitment efforts. The company has not made an official statement regarding Chu’s appointment.

Chu’s experience in AI systems, cloud architecture, and search technologies is expected to strengthen Meta’s Superintelligence Labs division as it continues developing cutting-edge AI capabilities.
