Joby Aviation, Inc. (NYSE:JOBY) saw its stock climb 7.5% after announcing plans to integrate Blade’s air mobility services into the Uber app as early as next year.
The move extends Joby’s strategic partnership with Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:UBER) and comes on the heels of its recent acquisition of Blade’s passenger operations. Through the integration, Uber users will be able to book Blade flights directly, gaining access to its route network in the New York metro area as well as Southern Europe.
“We’re excited to introduce Uber customers to the magic of seamless urban air travel,” said JoeBen Bevirt, founder and CEO of Joby. “Integrating Blade into the Uber app is the natural next step in our global partnership with Uber and will lay the foundation for the introduction of our quiet, zero-emissions aircraft in the years ahead.”
Joby purchased Blade’s passenger division in August 2025 and intends to leverage its infrastructure and know-how to accelerate the rollout of its electric air taxi service across global markets such as Dubai, New York, Los Angeles, the UK, and Japan.
The company’s air taxi is engineered to transport four passengers plus a pilot at speeds of up to 200 mph, while producing noise levels said to be 100 times lower than conventional helicopters. Joby has worked with Uber since 2019 and bolstered the relationship by acquiring Uber’s Elevate unit in 2021.
