Royal Caribbean Locks in Shipbuilding at Meyer Turku Through 2036

Royal Caribbean (NYSE:RCL) has finalized an agreement granting it shipbuilding rights at Finland’s Meyer Turku shipyard through 2036, the company announced Tuesday.

Under the deal, the cruise line confirmed an order for Icon 5, slated for delivery in 2028, though the order remains contingent on financing.

The agreement also includes an option to construct Icon 7, complementing the previously announced option for Icon 6. Royal Caribbean emphasized that any vessels beyond Icon 5 will depend on exercising these options and signing definitive construction contracts.

This long-term partnership with the Finnish shipyard secures Royal Caribbean’s production capacity and supports the company’s fleet expansion plans over the next decade.
