Boeing lands major jet deals with Turkish Airlines and Norwegian Air

Boeing (NYSE:BA) announced fresh momentum on Friday after securing large aircraft orders from Turkish Airlines and Norwegian Air Shuttle, helping strengthen the U.S. planemaker’s recovery efforts. The stock was up 0.5% in premarket trading.

Turkish Airlines, officially Turk Hava Yollari, confirmed a record commitment for as many as 75 787 Dreamliners, its largest purchase of Boeing wide-body planes to date. The agreement comes after a meeting in Washington between President Donald Trump and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The order includes 35 787-9 jets, 15 of the larger 787-10 model, and purchase rights for another 25 Dreamliners. Boeing also noted that the airline intends to acquire up to 150 737 MAX aircraft, which would mark its biggest single-aisle order with Boeing.

Separately, Norwegian Air exercised options to buy 30 additional 737-8 aircraft, building on its 2022 agreement to purchase 50 737s. The move supports the low-cost carrier’s strategy to broaden its network across Europe.
