Shares of Draganfly Inc. (NASDAQ:DPRO) surged 13% on Tuesday following news that the U.S. Army has chosen the company to provide its Flex FPV drone systems.
Under the agreement, the drone technology firm will supply advanced Flex FPV (First Person View) drones and assist in setting up local manufacturing at U.S. Forces bases overseas. The initiative is intended to speed up deployment and shorten supply chain delays for military operations.
Draganfly will also deliver flight and production training to Army personnel, while overseeing logistics to maintain a secure, NDAA-compliant supply chain. The company described the deal as a “significant milestone” that strengthens access to critical drone technologies closer to combat zones.
“We are honored to support the U.S. Army as it moves critical drone capabilities closer to front lines,” said Cameron Chell, President & CEO of Draganfly. “By combining advanced Flex FPV Drone systems, embedded manufacturing, training and secure logistics, we are helping reinforce operational agility and sustainment for forward-deployed forces.”
The Army has been broadening its reliance on FPV drones, with recent exercises in Lithuania showcasing in-house-built systems being used against multiple targets. The branch has also created a dedicated drone lab focused on design, training, and innovation.
Draganfly’s selection comes as the military continues to scale up drone warfare capabilities, including what it called the first-ever air-to-air kill with an armed FPV drone in August 2025.
