Toyota Motor (NYSE:TM) has issued a recall for 393,838 vehicles across the United States following the discovery of a rearview camera defect that could prevent images from displaying properly, according to a statement released by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Tuesday.
The safety regulator said the issue could impair drivers’ rear visibility and increase the risk of collisions.
The recall includes several Toyota models, notably 2022–2025 Tundra, Tundra Hybrid, and 2023–2025 Sequoia Hybrid vehicles.
To resolve the problem, Toyota dealers will update the multimedia display software on affected vehicles free of charge for all owners, the NHTSA confirmed.
