CVS Health (NYSE:CVS) shares fell more than 1% in premarket trading Wednesday after Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) announced a major expansion of its pharmacy business.
Amazon said its pharmacy division will start dispensing prescriptions for common medications through electronic kiosks located inside its One Medical primary care clinics beginning in December.
The new kiosks will represent Amazon Pharmacy’s first in-person prescription pickup option, expanding beyond the company’s existing home delivery model for medications.
