BIO-Key International, Inc. (NASDAQ:BKYI) shares jumped 9.7% in premarket trading on Wednesday after the company announced a strategic partnership with Dubai-based cloud and cybersecurity firm VaporVM.
The collaboration is designed to expand BIO-Key’s presence across the Middle East and Africa, combining its advanced identity authentication technologies with VaporVM’s strong regional network and market expertise. As part of the agreement, VaporVM will integrate and promote BIO-Key’s full suite of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and biometric solutions, including its PortalGuard platform.
Under the partnership, BIO-Key will provide its comprehensive suite of security tools, such as the PortalGuard IAM platform, Passkey:YOU passwordless solution, PIN:You authentication, and various biometric verification technologies. Meanwhile, VaporVM will deliver local implementation, technical support, and partner enablement services to ensure smooth deployment of these products.
“The collaboration combines VaporVM’s cloud-native expertise with BIO-key’s award-winning IAM platform, PortalGuard, and biometric authentication solutions,” said Fadi Alotaibi, Regional Channel Manager at VaporVM.
Nicholas Prinz, Regional Director for the Middle East & Africa at BIO-Key International, added that the partnership represents “an exciting evolution in our regional strategy that builds on recent regional successes.”
The joint initiative will target secure digital transformation projects for enterprises operating on major cloud infrastructures such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, reinforcing BIO-Key’s global footprint in the identity and cybersecurity markets.
