Ford Recalls More Than 20,000 U.S. Vehicles Over Battery Failure Risk

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) has announced a recall of 20,558 vehicles in the United States after identifying battery defects that could pose significant safety risks, according to a notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The agency said the recall was prompted by the risk that a failing battery could cause the vehicle to lose propulsion while in motion, heightening the chance of an accident.

The NHTSA also warned that the same battery issue carries a potential fire hazard, adding another layer of safety concern for the affected models.
