Stellantis Escapes Recall After U.S. Safety Probe Is Closed

Stellantis (NYSE:STLA) will not be required to carry out a recall after U.S. auto safety regulators ended a review into possible shifter cable bushing defects affecting nearly 300,000 vehicles.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday that it has finalized an investigation launched in July, which followed consumer complaints linked to shifter cable bushing failures in certain models produced by the Chrysler parent.

After examining a total of 298,439 vehicles, the regulator concluded that the issue did not warrant a mandatory recall, bringing the probe to a close without further action.
