E-Power Inc. (NASDAQ:EPOW) said it has secured a long-term anode material supply agreement with a global top-five lithium-ion battery manufacturer and is planning a joint investment in a new production facility in Indonesia.
The company disclosed that, alongside the supply contract, both parties have reached a strategic understanding to co-invest in a lithium-ion battery anode materials plant with an annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes. The proposed facility would be located in Indonesia and is intended to support growing demand from energy storage and electric vehicle battery markets.
According to E-Power, its new partner ranks consistently among the world’s five largest suppliers of energy storage and power batteries and operates an extensive international manufacturing network. The company noted that the partner’s supplier selection standards are considered among the most rigorous in the industry, and that winning the contract highlights E-Power’s cost competitiveness and product performance.
Expanding Global Footprint
Beyond a standard customer-supplier relationship, the planned Indonesia project represents a move toward localized manufacturing aligned with the battery maker’s global production strategy. The facility is expected to leverage regional resource advantages while helping establish a more resilient, cost-effective and lower-carbon supply chain for automotive and energy storage clients worldwide.
