CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV) shares rose about 4% on Wednesday after the company announced a multi-year strategic agreement with Perplexity to support artificial intelligence inference workloads on its cloud infrastructure.
Under the partnership, Perplexity will run its next-generation inference workloads on CoreWeave’s platform using dedicated clusters powered by NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 systems. The collaboration is intended to support growing demand across Perplexity’s Sonar and Search API ecosystem.
As part of the agreement, CoreWeave will also implement Perplexity Enterprise Max internally, giving employees access to a unified platform for web and internal knowledge searches, research tasks, data visualization, and interaction with AI models.
“We’re proud to partner with Perplexity as they scale their inference workloads on CoreWeave’s AI cloud,” said Max Hjelm, senior vice president of revenue at CoreWeave. “AI applications running in production require more than just access to raw infrastructure – they require best-in-class performance and reliability as well as a cloud platform designed end-to-end for AI that simplifies compute operations.”
Perplexity has already begun deploying inference workloads through the CoreWeave Kubernetes Service during the initial phase of the rollout. The company is also using W&B Models to train, fine-tune, and manage models across the full development cycle, from experimentation through production.
The partnership aligns with Perplexity’s broader multi-cloud strategy while strengthening CoreWeave’s position as a specialized AI cloud provider for organizations running advanced AI systems in production.
CoreWeave noted that it remains the only AI cloud provider to receive the top Platinum ranking in both the SemiAnalysis ClusterMAX 1.0 and 2.0 benchmarks, which measure AI cloud performance, efficiency, and reliability.
