GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) said it has been chosen by IVPC Group to supply wind turbines for a new wind farm project in Fortore, located in Benevento, Italy, with total capacity exceeding 100 megawatts.
The agreement covers the delivery of 17 units of GE Vernova’s 6.1 MW-158m onshore wind turbines. The project was among those awarded contracts during an auction organized by Italy’s energy agency, Gestore dei Servizi Energetici, in December 2025. GE Vernova recorded the order in its fourth-quarter 2025 results.
As part of the contract, the company will also provide a tailored operations and maintenance package developed in partnership with IVPC Group. Delivery of the turbines is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2027.
The Fortore wind farm will deploy GE Vernova’s 6 MW platform equipped with two-piece blade technology, designed to improve transport logistics and facilitate installation in more challenging locations. The setup is intended to optimize energy output.
The new order follows GE Vernova’s recent installation of its first Cypress 6.1 MW wind turbine in Italy at IVPC’s Montefalcone wind farm. That installation marks the start of a repowering program that could involve up to five turbines.
“We are honored to extend our collaboration with IVPC Group on the Fortore wind farm,” said Gilan Sabatier, Chief Commercial Officer for GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind business in International Markets.
IVPC Group owner and president Oreste Vigorito highlighted GE Vernova’s flexible service approach and its split-blade turbine technology as key reasons for selecting the company.
GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind division currently operates about 59,000 turbines worldwide, representing nearly 120 gigawatts of installed capacity. In Italy, the company is currently delivering and installing roughly 135 MW of capacity and says its technology supports about 25% of the country’s power capacity.
