Mobix Labs selected for anti-drone munitions feasibility study

Mobix Labs, Inc. (NASDAQ:MOBX) said it has been chosen by a major munitions manufacturer to participate in a feasibility program focused on next-generation smart munitions designed for anti-drone applications. The company, which has a market capitalization of about $47 million, has seen its shares climb roughly 72% year-to-date despite recent volatility.

The program will assess technology intended to enhance how munitions react as they approach aerial targets, particularly fast-moving drones. Mobix Labs said the selection represents its entry into the smart munitions segment within the defense industry.

“Being selected for this feasibility program is an exciting step for Mobix Labs,” said Phil Sansone, CEO of Mobix Labs. “It reflects both the strength of our technology and the confidence our partners have in our ability to contribute to advanced defense initiatives.”

According to the company, the current phase of the program is limited to feasibility evaluation and does not include production or deployment. If the initiative progresses beyond this stage, Mobix Labs could potentially participate in additional development phases.

The company noted that drones have become an increasingly significant challenge in modern warfare, driving demand for technologies capable of responding more quickly and accurately. Counter-drone systems have therefore become a major focus area across military and defense platforms.

Mobix Labs develops engineered solutions for aerospace, defense, telecommunications and other high-reliability industries, focusing on components and systems designed to perform in demanding operational environments.

The announcement comes as defense contractors continue searching for new ways to counter unmanned aerial threats. The feasibility program represents an early-stage evaluation, and there is no guarantee it will advance to later development stages or generate revenue.

In separate recent developments, Mobix Labs reported receiving a production purchase order for components used in the U.S. Navy’s Tomahawk cruise missile program. The order involves high-reliability filtering components designed to reduce electromagnetic interference in onboard missile electronics, reflecting increased procurement tied to ongoing missile production.

The company also continues producing communications hardware for secure networking systems used on U.S. Navy ships as part of a multi-year defense program with a prime contractor. In addition, Mobix Labs secured new production orders for components used in Gulfstream aircraft, aimed at protecting aircraft electronics from electromagnetic interference.

Mobix Labs also achieved a regulatory milestone after obtaining Federal Aviation Administration certification for its next-generation drone-based airborne sensing platform. The approval allows the company to move forward with commercial deployment, expand real-world testing operations and begin pilot programs with customers.

These developments highlight Mobix Labs’ activity across both defense and commercial markets, underscoring growing demand for its specialized aerospace and military components.
