Alarm.com enhances security platform with AI video search and new cameras

Alarm.com Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:ALRM) has introduced new features and devices for its video security platform, adding artificial intelligence–powered search functionality along with two new camera products for both residential and commercial users.

The company unveiled AI Video Event Search, a tool that enables customers to find specific video footage using natural language queries instead of manually reviewing long recordings. Users can search for events or objects by entering phrases such as “red pickup truck last week” or “grocery bag at front door Friday.” The system scans saved clip thumbnails from Alarm.com-compatible cameras and allows results to be filtered by time period or camera location.

The AI search feature is currently available to U.S. users subscribed to the Premium Video and Commercial Video Plus service plans. However, the company noted that the functionality is not offered in Illinois and certain other jurisdictions.

Alarm.com also introduced the ADC-V731B Battery Spotlight Camera, designed for locations where wired power is unavailable. The battery-powered device records 4MP video with a 140-degree horizontal field of view and features color night vision supported by an integrated spotlight. It can also operate with an optional solar panel and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments.

Another new product, the ADC-VDB775 Video Doorbell, expands the company’s front-door security lineup. The doorbell incorporates Familiar Face recognition technology, allowing users to identify known visitors and differentiate them from unfamiliar individuals. It can also detect people, packages, vehicles and animals, and includes onboard microSD storage for continuous recording.

“Our latest video updates are shaped by how customers and partners use the platform every day,” said Dan Kerzner, President of Platforms Business at Alarm.com. “They’re designed to help users get answers faster, extend coverage, and stay in control of their video.”
