Stellantis recalls about 700,000 vehicles worldwide over potential fire hazard

Stellantis (NYSE:STLA) has launched a global recall involving roughly 700,000 vehicles after identifying a potential fire risk, the automaker confirmed on Wednesday.

The recall was first disclosed by Germany’s KBA automotive regulator on Tuesday and covers vehicles manufactured between mid-2023 and early 2026. A range of models across several Stellantis brands are affected, including Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat, Jeep, Alfa Romeo, and Lancia.

Regulatory notices from the KBA indicate the vehicles require inspection for a possible defect that could allow water to enter the engine compartment, which in certain circumstances may create a fire hazard.

Stellantis stated that customer safety remains a top priority for the company. Owners of affected vehicles will be able to have the issue addressed through a free repair service, which the manufacturer said should take around 30 minutes to complete.
