Collins Aerospace, a division of RTX (NYSE:RTX), announced that three international airlines have chosen its Helix main cabin seating for upcoming narrowbody aircraft deliveries, covering roughly 200 planes across the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 families.
The company said the Helix seat has been engineered to offer increased personal space for passengers while being lighter than previous seat designs. It also incorporates enhanced ergonomics and a range of customizable features for airlines.
“Our airline customers are looking for cabin solutions to support the next decade of narrowbody travel, particularly as fleets and network strategies continue to evolve,” said Steve Kotso, vice president and general manager of Commercial Seating for Collins Aerospace.
Collins Aerospace noted that the Helix design simplifies construction by reducing the number of components while preserving current seating density levels. The product remains under development, with deliveries expected to begin toward the end of 2027 in line with aircraft production timelines.
The announcement was made at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany, where the Helix seating is currently being showcased. The company did not disclose the identities of the three airline customers involved.
RTX reported revenue exceeding $88 billion in 2025 and employs more than 180,000 people worldwide. Collins Aerospace serves as its aerospace systems division, with a workforce of around 80,000 employees.
