IBM (NYSE:IBM) has introduced a new set of cybersecurity solutions aimed at helping organizations defend against increasingly sophisticated attacks powered by advanced artificial intelligence, according to a company announcement.
The tech group rolled out two primary offerings: an AI-focused cybersecurity assessment service delivered through IBM Consulting, and IBM Autonomous Security, a platform driven by AI agents.
The assessment service is designed to evaluate how prepared enterprises are for AI-enabled threats by identifying vulnerabilities, policy gaps and potential attack pathways. IBM Consulting will provide the service alongside technology partners to support clients across diverse operating environments.
IBM Autonomous Security leverages coordinated AI agents to monitor software vulnerabilities and runtime environments. The system works across an organization’s security infrastructure to map potential exploit routes, enforce policies, identify unusual activity and respond to threats with minimal human input.
The platform integrates with AI systems spanning IT, operational technology and business workflows, with the goal of streamlining the process from threat detection to remediation while enhancing compliance.
“Frontier models are creating a new category of enterprise threat that is fast moving, systemic and increasingly autonomous,” said Mark Hughes, Global Managing Partner of Cybersecurity Services at IBM Consulting. “Meeting that threat requires a systemic defense. AI powered offense demands AI powered defense.”
IBM said the launch reflects a growing need for defensive tools as cybercriminals increasingly use advanced AI to speed up attack cycles and lower the barriers to executing complex cyber operations.
