Honeywell Aerospace (NASDAQ:HONAV) announced on Monday that it has been selected by IndiGo to provide avionics and power systems for 810 Airbus A320neo-family aircraft. The company also revealed that Aeromexico plans to introduce Honeywell’s runway safety technology across a fleet of more than 100 Boeing aircraft.
IndiGo expands partnership with Honeywell
Under the agreement, Honeywell will supply IndiGo with a range of aviation technologies, including auxiliary power units, weather radar, traffic collision avoidance systems, flight management systems and ongoing aftermarket support.
Honeywell Aerospace has worked with IndiGo since 2015, supplying equipment for the airline’s growing fleet. IndiGo currently operates more than 400 aircraft, making it one of the world’s largest Airbus A320-family operators.
Aeromexico adopts runway collision alert technology
Separately, Aeromexico intends to deploy Honeywell’s Surface Alerts (SURF-A) runway safety system across its Boeing 737 NG and Boeing 737 MAX fleets, covering more than 100 aircraft.
SURF-A is designed to improve runway safety by providing pilots with real-time visual and audio alerts when an aircraft is on a potential collision course with another aircraft operating on the runway. The system combines GPS positioning, Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) technology and advanced software analytics to identify potential hazards.
Honeywell expects the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration to begin certifying SURF-A for several Boeing aircraft models during the fourth quarter of 2026, with the certification process continuing into 2027.
The company did not disclose the financial value of either agreement.
