Work remains halted at Endeavour Silver’s Terronera mine, Mexico’s newest silver mine, following a community blockade initiated on August 12.
The demonstration stems from local Ejido residents pressing for municipal road repairs, healthcare and financial support, alongside increased authority over regional water resources.
While the miner originally cautioned that it could pursue legal remedies if the stalemate dragged on, negotiations have centered on dialogue, which are ongoing as essential safety, security and maintenance crews remain on site.
The company acquired Terronera in 2010, ushering it to commercial production on October 1, 2025, delivering 352,002 silver ounces and 8,148 gold ounces by the close of the year.
The mine is positioned to become the producer’s primary underground asset, leveraging the surrounding San Sebastián historic mining district and relative proximity to the cities of Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta.
Endeavour operates three active mines across Mexico and Peru, alongside exploration assets in Chile, Mexico and the United States.
Shares of Endeavour Silver (NYSE:EXK; TSX:EDR) are trading for C$15.13, reflecting a 93.23 per cent increase year-over-year.
