Ryde Group Ltd (AMEX:RYDE) has launched RydeX GO, a new ride-hailing option in Singapore that is designed to prioritise matching passengers with private-hire drivers located closer to their pick-up points.
The service has been added to the Ryde app alongside the company’s existing RydeX offering and will be progressively rolled out to users across Singapore.
Passengers using RydeX GO can view the applicable fare before confirming a booking, according to the company.
RydeX GO Prioritises Driver Proximity
Ryde Group said the main difference between RydeX GO and its standard RydeX service is the way drivers are matched with passengers.
RydeX GO is designed to prioritise the proximity of available drivers at the time a booking is made. The company said the feature is intended to make it easier for passengers to connect with drivers who are closer to their requested pick-up location.
Actual matching and pick-up times may vary depending on factors including driver availability, traffic conditions and the passenger’s location.
“With RydeX GO, we are giving riders greater control over their travel experience by making it easier to connect with drivers who are closer to them,” said James Tan, Chief Product Officer of Ryde.
Tan’s comments represent the company’s assessment of the intended benefits of the new service.
Ryde Group operates a technology platform providing mobility and quick-commerce services in Singapore.
