Why KNDI Stock Is in Focus

Kandi Technologies reported first-half 2026 net revenue of $57.1 million, a 57.4% increase from $36.3 million in the comparable period of 2025. The company attributed the increase primarily to higher off-road vehicle sales and additional revenue from Rawrr, the electric off-road motorcycle business acquired in February.

Revenue from off-road vehicles and associated parts increased 59.4% to $54.2 million from $34.0 million, accounting for most of Kandi’s first-half revenue.

Gross profit rose to $24.8 million from $16.4 million, although gross margin narrowed to 43.5% from 45.2%. Cost of goods sold increased 62.3% to $32.3 million.

Operating expenses increased at a considerably slower rate than revenue, rising 5.3% to $19.3 million. That combination resulted in operating income of $5.5 million, reversing the $1.9 million operating loss reported a year earlier.

Net income increased to $9.4 million from $1.7 million, while basic and diluted net income attributable to shareholders rose to $0.10 per share from $0.02.

Why This Matters for Investors

The first-half results shift attention toward whether Kandi can sustain its improved operating performance. Revenue expanded by more than half while operating expenses increased by 5.3%, resulting in a return to operating profitability.

Rawrr is also becoming part of Kandi’s revenue mix following its February acquisition. Management identified increased North American off-road electric vehicle sales and Rawrr’s additional contribution as factors behind first-half growth.

At the same time, the decline in gross margin means investors have another measure to monitor alongside revenue growth. Further periods may provide more information on how product mix, Rawrr integration and higher sales volumes affect profitability.

Kandi’s balance sheet could also influence its ability to pursue its broader strategy. Cash and cash equivalents, restricted cash and certificates of deposit totaled $285.7 million at June 30, up from $211.9 million at the end of 2025, while working capital stood at $189.5 million.

Beyond off-road vehicles, the company is expanding into additional businesses that could alter its revenue mix over time. These include heavy-truck battery swap equipment and, through its 51% acquisition of Xinchu, backup power and energy storage systems for AI data centers, telecom infrastructure and GPU computing environments.

What to Watch Next

Execution across Kandi’s newer businesses will be a key area to monitor. China Battery Exchange received an initial order for 18 battery swap stations from CATL’s QIJI Energy and has started production at a new facility designed for annual capacity of up to 200 heavy-duty truck battery swap stations.

Investors can also watch the integration of Xinchu following completion of the controlling-stake acquisition in the third quarter, as well as Kandi’s five-year community electric vehicle cooperation agreement with Greentown.

Management said that beyond 2026 it expects product upgrades, new Rawrr launches and contributions from emerging businesses to support growth. Future financial reports will provide further evidence of how much those initiatives contribute relative to Kandi’s established off-road vehicle operations.
