Sandisk Beats Fiscal Q1 Earnings Estimates, Raises Outlook and Announces 8-for-1 Stock Split

Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) reported stronger-than-expected fiscal first-quarter earnings and revenue, supported by accelerating demand for high-performance memory products used in artificial intelligence applications and data centres.

The semiconductor company’s results exceeded Wall Street forecasts, while its second-quarter guidance also surpassed analyst expectations. Sandisk additionally announced an eight-for-one forward stock split and continued substantial share repurchases.

Despite the positive earnings performance, Sandisk shares declined 3.5% in premarket trading, following a rally of approximately 550% over the preceding twelve months.

The results highlighted strong enterprise demand, favourable memory pricing and expanding profitability, although investors continued to assess whether current market conditions could sustain the company’s elevated margins.

Sandisk Fiscal First-Quarter Revenue Rises 23% to $11.03 Billion

Sandisk reported fiscal first-quarter revenue of $11.03 billion for the period ended October 2, 2026, exceeding analysts’ consensus estimate of $10.7 billion.

Revenue increased 23% compared with the preceding quarter, reflecting strong demand for the company’s memory and storage products.

Non-GAAP diluted earnings reached $49.51 per share, comfortably exceeding Wall Street expectations of $47.15 per share.

The earnings performance was supported by favourable pricing conditions and strong demand from enterprise customers expanding their artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Sandisk’s non-GAAP gross margin increased to 85.1%, demonstrating the company’s ability to maintain substantial pricing power despite higher operating costs.

The combination of rising revenue, stronger earnings and elevated margins reflected continued momentum in the memory market, particularly in products supporting data-intensive AI workloads.

Data Centre Revenue Surges 61% on AI Storage Demand

Sandisk’s data centre division delivered the strongest growth among its major business segments during the fiscal first quarter.

Revenue from the division increased 61% sequentially to $4.80 billion, supported by growing demand for high-density flash storage.

Enterprise customers continued expanding storage infrastructure to support artificial intelligence models and applications requiring large amounts of data.

Demand was also driven by context caching, which involves storing information that AI systems can access efficiently during processing.

These applications are increasing the importance of high-performance storage within AI infrastructure, alongside computing processors and networking equipment.

The rapid expansion of Sandisk’s data centre business demonstrated its growing exposure to enterprise investment in artificial intelligence.

However, the sustainability of this growth will depend partly on customer spending patterns, production capacity and future memory pricing conditions.

Edge Revenue Increases While Consumer Memory Sales Decline

Sandisk also reported growth in its edge division, which generated revenue of $5.83 billion during the quarter.

The figure represented a 7% increase compared with the previous quarter, providing an additional contribution to overall revenue growth.

The performance helped offset weaker results in the company’s consumer memory business.

Consumer memory revenue declined 29% sequentially to $397 million, reflecting a significant contraction in that segment.

The contrasting performances highlighted the different demand conditions across Sandisk’s operations.

While enterprise and edge customers continued supporting revenue growth, consumer memory products experienced weaker sales.

The strong contribution from data centre and edge operations nevertheless enabled Sandisk to report a substantial increase in consolidated quarterly revenue.

Sandisk Raises Fiscal Second-Quarter Revenue and Earnings Guidance

Sandisk provided an optimistic outlook for its fiscal second quarter, forecasting revenue of between $12.2 billion and $12.6 billion.

The midpoint of the projected range, $12.4 billion, exceeded Wall Street’s consensus estimate of $12.29 billion.

Management also forecast non-GAAP diluted earnings of between $55.00 and $57.00 per share on a pre-split basis.

The earnings guidance exceeded analysts’ consensus estimate of $54.69 per share, suggesting expectations for continued strong profitability.

The projections reflect management’s confidence in demand for memory products, particularly from customers investing in artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Favourable pricing conditions are also expected to remain an important factor in the company’s financial performance.

However, investors will continue monitoring whether supply constraints and premium pricing can support elevated operating margins over subsequent quarters.

Board Approves Eight-for-One Stock Split for November 19

Alongside its financial results, Sandisk announced that its board of directors had approved an eight-for-one forward stock split.

The split is scheduled to take effect after the market closes on November 19, 2026.

Under the arrangement, shareholders will receive eight shares for every one share held before the split, with the share price adjusted proportionately.

The transaction will increase the number of outstanding shares without changing the company’s overall market capitalisation solely as a result of the split.

Sandisk said the move was intended to improve share liquidity and make participation in employee stock purchase programmes more accessible.

The announcement followed a substantial increase in the company’s share price over the previous twelve months.

Although stock splits do not directly alter a company’s underlying financial value, they can make individual shares more accessible to investors and employees.

Sandisk Repurchases $5 Billion in Shares as Free Cash Flow Strengthens

Sandisk continued returning capital to shareholders during the fiscal first quarter through a substantial share repurchase programme.

The company spent approximately $5.0 billion buying back around 3.2 million shares.

The repurchases were supported by adjusted free cash flow of $5.70 billion during the quarter.

Strong cash generation provided Sandisk with financial flexibility to return capital to shareholders while continuing to expand its operations.

The scale of the repurchases also reflected management’s willingness to allocate significant resources to shareholder returns.

Analysts at Bernstein highlighted the contribution of pricing strength and buybacks to the company’s financial performance.

“Pricing and buybacks more than offset cost headwinds,” the analysts said.

Their assessment suggested that favourable market pricing and capital returns were helping compensate for rising costs.

Investors Assess Sustainability of Strong Memory Pricing

Despite exceeding earnings expectations and raising its guidance, Sandisk shares fell 3.5% in premarket trading.

The decline followed a substantial rally of approximately 550% over the preceding twelve months, suggesting that investors were reassessing valuations after a period of exceptional share price appreciation.

The company’s financial performance nevertheless demonstrated strong demand for enterprise storage products, particularly those supporting AI infrastructure.

Investors will be watching whether supply constraints and premium memory pricing continue to support Sandisk’s unusually high gross margins.

Future quarterly results will also provide further evidence of whether data centre demand can maintain its current growth trajectory.

The company’s second-quarter guidance indicates expectations for continued revenue and earnings expansion, while the planned stock split and share repurchases demonstrate an ongoing focus on capital allocation.

Sandisk’s near-term performance will depend on the balance between strong AI-related demand, production capacity, pricing conditions and the ability to sustain profitability across its business segments.
