Medical Care Technologies Reports 86% Image Quality Pass Rate in Expanded Melanoma Scan Beta Testing

Medical Care Technologies Inc. (USOTC:MDCE) has reported updated internal testing results for its MDCE Melanoma Scan Beta platform, with an expanded dataset of human-submitted photographs showing improvements in image usability and body-map registration.

The company reported an image-quality pass rate of 86%, successful body-map registration of 89% and a 91% alignment rate for sequential images used to assess changes in the same skin area over time.

The findings follow preliminary results released on September 29 and fulfil the company’s October 20 commitment to publish additional testing data.

Expanded Testing Shows Improvements in Image Processing

Medical Care Technologies said 86% of newly submitted photographs met its internal image-quality requirements and were accepted for further processing.

Images that failed to meet the threshold were primarily affected by excessive blurring, insufficient lighting or incomplete framing.

Among usable photographs, 89% were successfully registered to the platform’s interactive body map, allowing previously photographed skin areas to be identified for subsequent review.

The company also reported that 91% of paired sequential images achieved sufficient alignment for side-by-side visual comparison.

These results reflect the platform’s ability to process photographs captured under varying real-world conditions, including differences in lighting, camera devices, distance, viewing angles and image compression.

End-to-End Workflow Completion Reaches 84%

Beyond the individual processing stages, Medical Care Technologies reported an overall workflow completion rate of 84%.

This represents the proportion of submissions that successfully passed through image-quality assessment, body-map registration and sequential comparison without manual intervention.

The company said the expanded evaluation incorporates user-submitted images that better reflect everyday photography conditions than publicly available research datasets.

Its testing has also drawn on established image archives, including HAM10000, ISIC and TCIA, although the company noted that these sources do not fully represent the variability of photographs taken by consumers.

The reported percentages are based on internal technical assessments rather than an independently validated clinical study.

Medical Care Technologies did not disclose the total number of photographs included in the expanded evaluation.

Company Continues Beta Testing and Data Collection

Marshall Perkins, Chief Executive Officer of Medical Care Technologies, said the latest evaluation demonstrated progress compared with the initial testing phase.

“The expanded set produced higher usability and registration numbers than the first pass,” Perkins said.

He added that the company would continue accepting volunteer submissions to broaden the dataset and assess the platform’s performance across additional image conditions.

The ongoing testing is intended to evaluate the system’s technical capabilities in processing, mapping and comparing skin photographs.

Melanoma Scan Platform Remains in Development

MDCE Melanoma Scan Beta remains an experimental technology and has not received regulatory clearance.

The company emphasised that the reported results relate exclusively to image handling, body mapping and visual comparison capabilities.

They do not establish the platform’s ability to detect or diagnose melanoma or other skin conditions.

Volunteer participation is not part of a clinical efficacy trial or diagnostic programme, and the technology is not intended to replace professional medical screening or assessment.

Medical Care Technologies develops artificial intelligence-powered applications across healthcare, wellness, nutrition, lifestyle and enterprise imaging analysis.

Outlook

The expanded testing results indicate progress in Medical Care Technologies’ development of its Melanoma Scan Beta platform, particularly in processing consumer photographs and aligning images for visual comparison.

The company plans to continue collecting human-submitted images to evaluate the system under a wider range of real-world conditions.

However, the platform remains in beta development, and the technical performance figures do not demonstrate clinical effectiveness.

Medical Care Technologies has not announced a timetable for regulatory submissions, commercial launch or clinical validation.
