DataMeds AI, Inc. (NASDAQ:MEDS) announced that it has entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a Florida-based health maintenance organization (HMO) to introduce its Health Lives Here mobile application to the insurer’s members, initially focusing on patients receiving GLP-1 receptor agonist medications.
The proposed arrangement would establish a subscription-based revenue model for DataMeds, with additional payments for GLP-1 patient management services. The companies intend to finalize definitive agreements during the fourth quarter of 2026, ahead of a planned application launch in the first quarter of 2027.
The Florida HMO, which has not been publicly identified, expects to enroll between 25,000 and 30,000 members for 2027 following the conclusion of its open enrollment period on December 8, 2026.
Proposed Agreement Covers Medicare Advantage Members
Under the preliminary agreement, DataMeds would make its Health Lives Here mobile application available to members of the Florida-based HMO.
The insurer serves Medicare Advantage beneficiaries, including individuals enrolled in Chronic Special Needs Plans and Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans.
These programmes provide coverage for eligible Medicare beneficiaries with specific chronic health conditions or those who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid.
The HMO anticipates enrolling between 25,000 and 30,000 members for the 2027 coverage year, although the final membership total will depend on enrollment results.
The proposed programme would initially concentrate on members receiving GLP-1 receptor agonist medications, particularly patients managing obesity and diabetes.
The insurer has requested that its identity remain undisclosed.
DataMeds Plans Monthly Subscription Revenue Model
DataMeds expects the proposed agreement to generate revenue through a per-member-per-month payment structure.
Under this model, the HMO would pay for access to the Health Lives Here application across its membership base.
The company would also receive additional revenue from a GLP-1 patient management feature designed for members receiving these medications.
DataMeds identified further potential revenue opportunities involving pharmacy dispensing services, diagnostic laboratory testing and medical food products.
However, the company did not disclose proposed subscription rates, additional service fees or an estimated total contract value.
Because the MOU is non-binding, the proposed commercial arrangements remain subject to the negotiation and execution of definitive agreements.
Health Lives Here to Focus on Medication Adherence
The Health Lives Here programme is intended to support medication adherence and healthcare quality measures among participating members.
Its initial focus will be on patients using GLP-1 receptor agonist treatments for conditions including obesity and diabetes.
The programme is also designed to address healthcare performance measures, including Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) scores and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) star ratings.
These measures are used to assess aspects of healthcare quality and health plan performance.
DataMeds expects the application to support patient engagement and medication management as part of the HMO’s broader healthcare services.
NFL Alumni Health, an existing marketing partner of Health Lives Here, is expected to assist with member engagement activities.
The company did not provide specific targets for improvements in medication adherence, HEDIS scores or CMS star ratings.
Existing Pharmacy and Laboratory Relationships Support Proposed Rollout
DataMeds said its existing healthcare operations have established network relationships relevant to the proposed programme.
Its retail pharmacy subsidiary, Corexa Pharmacy, is already included in the networks of the HMO’s pharmacy benefits manager and Medicare.
The company’s diagnostic laboratory, Helomics, also participates in the Medicare network.
These existing relationships could support the delivery of pharmacy and laboratory services associated with the Health Lives Here programme.
DataMeds identified pharmacy dispensing, diagnostic testing and medical food products as potential additional sources of revenue beyond the application subscription and GLP-1 management services.
The announcement did not specify whether these additional services would be included in the initial definitive agreements or introduced separately.
Companies Target First-Quarter 2027 Launch
DataMeds and the Florida HMO expect to complete negotiations and execute definitive agreements during the fourth quarter of 2026.
The proposed deployment of Health Lives Here is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
The timing follows the HMO’s open enrollment period, which is expected to close on December 8, 2026.
The parties have not announced a specific launch date or provided details about the number of members expected to use the application initially.
The MOU does not create a binding obligation to proceed with the programme, and implementation remains conditional on the completion of definitive agreements.
Management Comments on Potential First Corporate Customer
Gerald Commissiong, Interim Co-Chief Executive Officer of DataMeds AI, described the proposed arrangement as an opportunity to expand the company’s commercial customer base.
The agreement “positions us to add our first corporate customer that will allow us to fine-tune our offering for the needs of payors,” Commissiong said.
The comments reflect the company’s intention to adapt Health Lives Here for health insurers and other organizations responsible for managing healthcare coverage and costs.
If definitive agreements are completed, the Florida HMO would become the company’s first corporate customer under the proposed arrangement.
The announcement did not provide financial forecasts associated with the potential customer relationship.
DataMeds AI Outlook
The non-binding MOU establishes a proposed framework for deploying Health Lives Here to a Florida Medicare Advantage insurer expecting between 25,000 and 30,000 members in 2027.
DataMeds plans to generate revenue through monthly membership-based application fees, additional GLP-1 management services and potentially other healthcare-related offerings.
The programme would initially focus on patients with obesity and diabetes, with an emphasis on medication adherence and healthcare quality measures.
The companies are targeting definitive agreements in the fourth quarter of 2026 and an application rollout during the first quarter of 2027.
The proposed commercial relationship remains subject to final negotiations, and no binding contract value or guaranteed revenue has been disclosed.
