Meta Aims to Automate Ad Creation with AI by 2026

Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META), the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is reportedly advancing plans to enable fully automated ad creation and delivery through artificial intelligence by the end of 2026, according to a Wall Street Journal report citing company sources.

The tech giant, whose social apps serve a combined 3.43 billion unique users globally, is developing tools that will allow brands to generate entire ad campaigns—including visuals, videos, copy, and targeting—using AI. Advertisers could simply upload a product image and set a budget, and Meta’s AI would handle the rest.

The upcoming system will not only build and deploy ads but also recommend how to allocate the advertiser’s budget and select optimal audiences across Facebook and Instagram.

Meta is also planning to incorporate real-time personalization into its ad products. With this functionality, users could be shown dynamically tailored ad versions based on factors such as location, maximizing both engagement and ad performance.

The move signals a major shift toward automation in digital advertising, as Meta aims to streamline the campaign process for marketers and enhance relevance for users.
