Tesla to debut six-seat Model Y L in China this autumn

Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) plans to launch an extended version of its Model Y, featuring six seats, in China later this year, according to regulatory filings and company statements.

The electric carmaker filed details for the new Model Y variant with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which were published on the ministry’s website Wednesday. The documents reveal the vehicle will have a wheelbase measuring 3,040 mm.

Tesla confirmed the release on its official Weibo account with a post saying, “Model Y L, see you in the fall,” alongside images matching the design in the regulatory submission.

This Model Y L is tailored specifically for the Chinese market, adding to Tesla’s expanding range of region-specific models.
