Stellantis (NYSE:STLA), the parent company of Chrysler, is recalling 121,398 vehicles in the United States over a potential safety defect involving head restraints, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported on Wednesday.
According to the NHTSA, the issue stems from head restraints that may not lock securely into place, posing a heightened risk of injury to passengers in the event of a collision.
The recall spans several Stellantis vehicle models, although the agency did not specify which ones are affected.
Stellantis, the multinational automaker formed through the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and France’s PSA Group, oversees numerous well-known brands in the U.S., including Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, and Fiat.
