Harley-Davidson names Artie Starrs as new CEO

Harley-Davidson Inc. (NYSE:HOG) revealed that its board has chosen Artie Starrs to take over as president and chief executive officer starting October 1, 2025.

Starrs arrives at the iconic Milwaukee motorcycle company from Topgolf Callaway Brands, where he was CEO of the Topgolf International division. Over his four and a half years leading Topgolf, he helped grow annual revenues from $1.1 billion in 2021 to $1.8 billion, while expanding the brand into five more countries across Europe and Asia.

Before joining Topgolf, Starrs held key roles at Yum! Brands’ Pizza Hut from 2013 to 2021, ultimately serving as global CEO. Under his leadership, Pizza Hut grew to over 18,000 locations in 110 countries. His earlier experience includes serving as Pizza Hut U.S. president, CFO at Rave Cinemas, and starting his career in investment banking at Wasserstein Perella.

“Artie is an accomplished business leader who brings extensive experience managing strong brands and global operations,” said Troy Alstead, presiding director. “His track record of delivering top and bottom-line growth, combined with his experience in franchise driven industries, are both huge assets for Harley-Davidson at this time in the Company’s history.”

Jochen Zeitz, current Chairman, President, and CEO, will remain in his position until October 1, 2025. He will then serve as a senior advisor through February 2026 to ensure a smooth leadership transition. Alstead will take over as chairman of the board on October 1, 2025.

Upon taking the CEO role, Starrs will also join Harley-Davidson’s board of directors, according to the company.
