Vertical Aerospace Shares Rise 4.1% After Strategic Partnership with Aciturri

Vertical Aerospace Ltd (NYSE:EVTL) saw its stock climb 4.1% following the announcement of a long-term strategic agreement with Aciturri Aerostructures to manufacture the airframe for its VX4 electric aircraft.

Under the deal, Aciturri will supply the complete airframe for both the pre-production and certified models of Vertical’s electric and hybrid-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The Spanish aerospace firm will produce key components including the wing, empennage, pylons, and fuselage, while also assuming engineering responsibility for several structural elements.

With nearly 50 years of experience in commercial aircraft manufacturing, Aciturri has designed major airframe parts for leading companies such as Airbus, Boeing (NYSE:BA), and Embraer. The company also has prior experience in eVTOL projects, having worked on airframes for Eve Air Mobility and Lilium.

“As we accelerate toward commercialization, the VX4 demands an airframe built specifically for the unique challenges of eVTOL and the highest levels of safety certification,” said Stuart Simpson, CEO of Vertical Aerospace. “As a leading, global supplier, Aciturri brings the world-class capability, agility, and technical excellence we need to turn great designs into great aircraft.”

This partnership is a critical component of Vertical’s Flightpath 2030 strategy as the company advances toward certification and production. It follows Vertical’s expanded collaboration with Honeywell (NASDAQ:HON) for flight control and aircraft management systems and its recent milestone completion of the first airport-to-airport flights.
