Nvidia, AMD, and Apple Dip Premarket as Intel Gains

U.S. stock futures inched higher on Monday, with gains restrained ahead of key inflation data due later this week.

Here are some of the biggest premarket movers:

  • Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) slipped 0.8% and AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) dropped 1.8% after reports surfaced that both chipmakers may owe the U.S. government 15% of profits generated from AI technology sales to China.
  • Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) declined 0.5%, giving back some of last week’s gains despite announcing a series of U.S. investment initiatives.
  • C3.ai (NYSE:AI) plunged 32% following a preliminary earnings release that fell well short of analyst forecasts.
  • Gene therapy firms Sarepta Therapeutics (NASDAQ:SRPT) and Capricor Therapeutics (NASDAQ:CAPR) dropped 4% and 9%, respectively, amid news that Vinay Prasad, a vocal critic of U.S. COVID-19 mandates, is expected to return to the FDA.
  • Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) climbed 1.7% after reports that CEO Lip-Bu Tan is scheduled to visit the White House, following calls from former President Donald Trump for his removal.
  • Novartis (NYSE:NVS) ADRs gained 2.4% on positive Phase III trial results for ianalumab targeting Sjögren’s disease.
  • Monday.com (NASDAQ:MNDY) shares tumbled 18% despite the company’s second-quarter earnings surpassing expectations.
