Ford Issues Recall for Over 103,000 Vehicles Over Axle Hub Spline Defect

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) is recalling 103,174 vehicles across the U.S. due to a potential safety defect involving damaged axle hub splines, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported.

The recall stems from concerns that affected vehicles might roll away if placed in park without the parking brake engaged. Additionally, the damaged axle hub splines could lead to a sudden loss of drive power while the vehicle is moving.

NHTSA emphasized that both issues create a significant safety risk, increasing the likelihood of accidents and endangering drivers, passengers, and others on the road.

Details regarding the specific models involved have not yet been disclosed, and Ford has not announced the schedule for repairs or how owners of impacted vehicles will be notified.
